alrite im 22 years old and like almost a year ago i found out i have hep c. so my livers in good shape and all a little inflamed the dr said but i was wondering like how long can u live with hep c ... im asking like when im 40 am i gonna be dead or liver failure. also like i try to work out and ive lost wieght and i think its because of the hep but my friend tells me it isnt. but i dont seem 2 really be putting much on lol but like i never really had a problem working out and b4 i knew i had hep i was having a problem lifting my old bench press and felt weaker... is there like a reason for that and will that ever go away or am i gonna deal with like muscle weakness for the rest of my life or is that some other cause of concern

i'm 23 and found out about hep c 4 years ago during my freshman year of college.  i'm guessing i've had it my whole life as my mom and uncle have been diagnosed as well.  anyway I used to be pretty active but started to feel extreme fatigue in high school (especially after having mono)but since i've been diagnosed i haven't had a regular exercise schedule and i certainly don't have motivation to exercise now that i'm on treatment. are you considering treatment yet? are you drinking at all?  I go to school in New orleans so its actually been pretty emotionally painful not to be able to consume alcohol.  i'm really not socializing too well anymore because my friends just want to go out bar hopping and I hate being around drunk people now.  what is your viral count? i started with a really low 125,000 went on treatment for 4 months and within three years i was up to 850,000.   still not a very high count but i was so anxious and worried about virus that i started treatment in the middle of junior year and now i have 3 shots left, hoping i won't have to worry about hep c when i'm 40.  but like irishrayne said, if not hep c i'm sure it will be something else.

many people never feel the hep c until their liver starts
malfunctioning. usually decades after you get the virus.
it can come more quickly so stay on top of it.

So, like, you'll most likely die from some, like, other disease before you'll, like, die from HCV.
Be sure you are being followed by a good Hepatologist and keep reading here. Lots of great folks with lots of sage advice.
Do not drink alcohol.
