Ah, I am glad the probiotics are helping. I found I had to keep up with all the water drinking and yogurt eating (I use Brown Cow whole yogurt) even more so, after my Treatment ended.
I also notice I have some depression, so I try to get out, and do some gentle exercise. The issues that over-whelm me are not so bad, mainly a ton of house-work, etc, so I try to remind myself of the good things I have going for me.
I am a yr post Tx, but still recovery also. The Interferon wrecked havoc on my gums, and I had to have a tooth pulled, etc.
Give yourself ample time to recover, there is alot of Post Trauma after what we've been thru...all the anxiety of waiting, not knowing...the Interferon, it al leaves it's mark.
Make sure your diet is full of antioxidants, for example, my husband bought me a Vitamix blender, so I am making fruit smoothies with organic fruit, and adding flax-seeds, nuts, oat-bran...I find all kinds of healthy things to add, and of course, use the healthy yogurt in the smoothie. I actually do feel the benefits.
Thanks for the support everyone. I started taking probiotics over the weekend and my digestion is improving immediately. Yay. I didn't realize how jacked up my digestion really was....it's such a lifestyle I was living, I guess.
I did schedule a physical for next week and also a massage. I'll just keep on keeping on! It's great to knnow you guys are here and you really understand.
Thanks again
Jeannine
Hi there, I can feel your pain, everyone improves a different rate. DWBH has excellent advice. that is what I need to do, get a physical, make sure my thyorid is ok as it can change post tx. I will try to find the article about the swinging thyroid, I found that probiotcs helped me and NADH helped with the brain fog
Everyone is different so hang in there
D
I'm so sorry you are still struggling to such a degree! I'm sending you a pm with some ideas, but I do think this is an excellent time to visit your PCP for a complete physical exam to rule out any other problems that might be causing your current symptoms. Sixteen months is a VERY long time to wait for improvements! Best wishes!
Hi there. Sorry your not feeling well. Having a complete physical post treatment is a very important and helpful tool. I have been to a cardiologist, dermatologist, endocrinologist, ENT specialist and next week I'm having a complete physical with my Personal Care Physician (Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine). I expect to have a complete conversation about my progress post treatment, current physical condition and how I'm feeling. Hepatitis C treatment is a very serious and toxic treatment. How this treatment effects your body is different for everyone. What I have found is I do feel better now
(10 months post treatment). But honestly, I was starting wonder at 8 months
if I was going to feel better. What I did find made a big change was when my thyroid hormone levels went back to normal. My thyroid was effected by my treatment from the very beginning of treatment. I have keep all my blood work and see that how I feel and my thyroid levels go hand in hand. So because it took 10 months for my thyroid to return to normal ...it only since last week I feel the effects of treatment are finally leaving.
Hepatitis C treatment effects every part of your body. I think 16 months post treatment is a good time to have a complete medical evaluation. It could be something very simple like hormone replacement.
