finally got to see the Dr today, here are the results
necroinflammatory activity is mild score 1 of 4
degree of fibrosis score 1-2 of 4 (fibrous protal expansions with rare portal to portal bridging fibrosis)
stainable iron present in some hepatocytes and Kupffer cells grade 1 of 4
sections of liver biopsy tissue reveal an adequate number of portal tracts of evaluation. The specimen is slightly fragmented. Portal tracts contain and increase in lymphocytes with occasional macrophages and eosinophils and some portal tracts, in addition, in some portal tracts piecemeal necrosis is seen, no significant bile duct damage is identified. hepatic lobules exhibit intact sinusoidal architecture. Focal mild macrovesaicular and microvesicular steatosis is seen. No granulomatous inflammation is present. No mallory hyaline is seen. some nuclei have a glycogenated appearance. Special stains with verified controls are performed. a PAS stain reveals abundant intrahepatocytic glycogen, which is extensively removed by diastase digestion. No PAS positive, diastase-resistant globules are identified. A special stain for iron reveals the presence of stainable iron within some Kupffer cells and some hepatocytes, graded at 1 of 4. A reticulin stain reveals intact sinusoidal architecture. It confirns the expansion of some portal tracts by reticulin fibrosis, and in one small fragment, bridging fibrosis is present. A trichrome stain reveals the presence of a slight degree of collagen fibrosis, associated with some portal tracts. Cirrhosis is not identified. Hepatitis c 1a
if anyone out there knows this stuff i will be suitably impressed. Start treatment July 28th 2011 with 3 drugs including the telaprevir.
Hi there....well congrats....basically you have mild inflammation (necroinflammatory activity is mild score 1 of 4 ) and mild to moderate fibrosis (degree of fibrosis score 1-2 of 4
there is no iron overload .. and basically the liver is functioning normally.
A very normal read on biopsy with minimal damage. The important part of all that is you have mild damage and there is no emergeny to treat.
Statrting in July with Tela ..sounds like the plan :)
