terrible fatigue?

I have had hep c for the last 15yrs. Have struggled with fatigue off and on ever since diagnosis. Over the last year, my fatigue has gotten so bad that I don't even want to plan my honeymoon trip because I get so exhausted I end up feeling very ill.Have had to cut back on work now as well. Went to a hepatologist and was told my fatigue isn't due to my hep.  Had labwork done, liver enzymes elevated as usual but not off the charts. all other labwork is ok. Don't get it. Am I the only one hearing this or should I seek a new doctor?

Hi there.....you will get a better response if you post your question on the Hepatitis C forum however just briefly ,to your question...yes fatigue is a common complaint of those of us with HVC.For a Hepa to make a definitive statement that it is not a symptom either figures in your case it may be caused by something else or is just not that informed.

Has he/she suggested to be tested for Geno type and a boipsy done to assess the degree of damage if any. IF these aren"t things your Hepa is discussing with you then ...yes it may be time to be seeking out the opinion of another doctor.

Hope that helps some...and go to the other forum and I imagine others will chime in.

first i have to wonder....when you got diagnosed did you change your diet or even more did you drink and then stop??? these things can cause fatigue....i had wicked fatigue before i was diagnosed and still 5 years later still get it pretty bad...although before i found out i had hep i was drinking a couple to a few drinks most nights for like 10 years...alcohol and hep don't mix...also in the back of your mind you could be thinking too much about your hep...but then an impaired liver can cause fatigue and thats quite common...i like to think i'm not at all depressed although i could be wrong..that doesn't help....i also notice when i exercise too much i get really tired the next day...and if i'm out in the cold i get really tired...my enzymes were in the 200s this last spring...have you tried tx yet??? or are you planing on tx this year??? i'm tx as soon as the tx comes out...good luck...billy
