dont know what to do

hello everyone....I am 56 years old 6 ft 240lbs.....I have been on blood pressure medication since age 27...I recently had a distal  tendon repaired that takes up to a year to recover from....I live-work in Colorado as a rig welder...my wife has a job 2 hours away where she lives....since I recovering I came back to south AR to visit with my only son and do light work and get ready for deer season....I have been here 6 weeks and was preparing to drive back the end of Oct. My chest discomfort started this past sunday ...I really didn't think much of it as I thought I over used my repaired arm which is also my strong arm....the discomfort continues but while I am typing it is more like a back ache that I am used to having....after making a dr appt. yesterday I checked BP at home and it was pretty high ....checked it several times...and called wife and told her I was going to the ER.. they checked my BP after I waited for an hour ...they asked me about the other symptoms but I only had mild discomfort in shoulder and arm (for the last 3 days) and nothing else....The EKG came back negative and the (blood enzymes ) were fine....was sent home when BP stabilized...114 / 83...went to doctor I had in Arkansas today and he did another EKG and more blood test....he told me the test show I have had damage to the right side of heart at sometime but not recently...he is setting up a stress test in the next couple of days as soon as test results get back   Now for my question ....if stress test wont be for another week should I go back to Colorado where my wife is  or wait around here for who knows how long...( Its a 20 hour drive)

Take it very easy and don't drive. You do need to have that stress ECG done because you just might have unstable angina and that does not show up on a resting ECG.

Please DON'T drive, but it sounds good to be back home and with your wife.  Arrange for medical records transfer to your home doctor.

Could you take a bus, train or fly?

Or, (you've a car?) Could a family member come (bus, train, plane) fetch you and drive you home?
