3 year old weight loss tender feet

I have a 3 year old quarter horse halter show mare who has lost a lot of weight.
she originally cut her right front shoulder, we took her to the vet, and the took care of her , they called a week later said she show signs of shaking, she is hypp.  we went and checked on her, the hay was extremely poor, looked more like weeds.  they put her on better hay.  she later becomes tender on her front feet, they took her off her oats of 2 scoops twice aday,  she has all the hay she wants but her weight is dropped, you can see her backbone and hip bones she has probably lost aleast a couple hundred pounds if not more in the last 60 days, her coat is also very thick.  she had just come home from the trainer three weeks before she got injured, she was  on  high quailtiy hay oats and a supplement, with lost of exercise,  she has also turned up unbred. any ideas on sore feet and weight loss. we have never had any problems with her before this.

Just fyi, If you are a member of AQHA there is a good article this month on maintenance tips for horses with HYPP.  Are you feeding her any oats or pellets now?  Even if she was not worked, and then put out to pasture on just hay you very well could see some weight loss on hay alone.  Dietary changes are huge.  Fariasgirl made a few good points, if you are feeding oats/feed/whatever is more going back into the feed bowl than in her?  Did you switch your wormer up?  Intestinal parasites can become immune to the same wormer over and over again.  Just a few hints, hope all gets better.  CW

Sore feet could be a stone bruise. Also, when was the last time she was trimmed/shoed. Have you noticed any signs that she might have foundered? with the weightloss, have you tried getting her teeth floated or worming her?
