Abnormal Pap - HPV

Hi,
About 10 months ago my annual Pap came back abnormal (mild dysplasia), and therefore I was tested for HPV. The test came back positive - high risk.
After the coploscopy my doctor decided I didn't need a biopsy, but should come back for another Pap smear in 3 months.
The Pap 3 months later was normal, as well as the Pap 6 months and 9 months (just recently) later.

Has anybody had the same experience?
Can I relax now, or can it come back any moment?
I'm confused because doctors always say that the virus stays in the body (like herpes), on the other side, I read that most people acquire HPV at some point in there lifes, but the infection is cleared an nothing happens...
So, is my infection cleared now or not?
Lisa

Good ? In my case I think its alway in your body. I had mild dyplasia and I chose to have lazer surgery because I didn't want to deal with cervical cancer. Well the pap smear after the surgery came back normal and then had abnormal pap smear in 2008. Dr teated as bacterial and yeast infection then did biopsy and was DX with moderate dysplasia in which did the colposcopy and then leep so aparently with me the virus grew back. Go back to your Dr. and ask. Good Luck
