Dealing with post-cancer HPV

by Munk84, Jul 27, 2009 06:12AM
My girlfriend has recently been treated for stage 2/3 HPV with LEET. She is now concerned that I may possess HPV (this is most likely as we have been together for a long time) and that sexual contact (after healing) would lead to a resurgance of the virus in her because of me. Long story short, I am now on Moxypen (Amoxicillin) as I was told this would treat any possibly dangerous strains that I may be carrying, I have yet to show any signs of warts or other infections.

Does this broad-spectrum anti-biotic offer any help to making sex safer in terms of my partner?
What else could I possibly do/take to ensure the lowest possible chance of my partner being re-infected?

Thanks for the assistance.

i think you mean a LEEP , and once you have HPV she is always going to have it, now she need to take comtrol of it, and from what your saying it sounds like she has. and with a LEEP it sounds like she doesnt have the strands of HPV that cause warts , its the cancer causing strands  that they would need to the the LEEP on her.  and now they will probaby check her again every 3-6 months to see if the cells are abnormal, gron, or changed. so by you having sex with her is not going to "re-infect" her. HPV is a virus that stays with you for forever. most people bodies do make the virus lay dormant for years or forever which people say "it clears up on its own".... it sounds like they gave you some meds for her safty and i hope you TAKE THEM ALL and do it as the doctor told you to do it. dont get to the last few pills and not take them (most people do that), but as far as a HPV test for men, there is none. unless the male starts getting warts there is no way to know if infected with HPV.

i also have HPV and have had a biopsy done... if you have any othe rquestions...feel free to ask me... and your in the right spot... you shuold have your girlfriend come to this website as well.....take care
