mild abnormality in biopsy following colposcopy

by louise09, Jun 30, 2009 12:31AM
Hi! I consulted my GP after having bleeding(not much) after sexual intercourse and she did Pap smear and swabs and scheduled me an appointment for colposcopy. I had my colposcopy and they also took biopsy and another pap because the result from the GP is not back yet. The result of pap smear is normal but the biopsy came back slightly abnormal as the letter says. They advised me to have repeat colposcopy 6months after and no treatment needed as according to them it may come back normal in 6months time. Iam so worried and not happy to wait for 6months to have it check again... what if the second colp biopsy came back worst... i would prefer to have the repeat colposcopy done earlier to make sure its not getting any worst. I never had HPV test taken.

Sounds like this is a discussion you should have with your doctor.
