Which medication can I double up on?

I have Amlopidine 5mg  and Perindopril 8mg  for hypertension. The doc said if not working then double up on one of them.  He told me which one.
But I can't remember which one that was and that was months ago.  Big hassle getting through to him in that clinic.  Easier (and helpful to others) if I can get an answer right here.
Which one would it have been - the amlopidine (calcium channel blocker) or the perindopril (ace inhibitor) ?
