I have been prescribed lopressor 25mg 1 pill daily i have been on it for 6 days and my bp is 128/78 just like it was before doctor put me on the pill the reason doctor  gave for wanting me to take it was my bp was 144/90 i told her i had been  working in the fields im a farmers handyman it was very hot that day she took my bp with in 30 minutes of me getting off work and said i have high blood pressure  anyone who works in the heat is gona have some bp increase so my Question is can i just stop taking the pill cause its not been changing my bp at allit just makes me nervous more than anything thanks for any advice i just feel the doctor made a very quick decision without all the facts

Hello,
You are right, high temperature can affect your general health as well as increase blood pressure levels. I think that before prescribing the meds your doctor had to check your blood pressure again when you were rested.

By the way, anxiety disorder can also be the cause of raised blood pressure. That is why before checking your blood pressure, please, try to calm down and only then measure it.

There is a lot of disagreement about blood pressure norms. Years ago I worked on the NDA for calcium channel blockers and the literature showed about 18 percents of people with elevated blood pressure returned to normal with calcium and D3 supplements. Chest pain from having ribs broken takes a long time to resolve. My broken ribs took three years before i stopped feeling pain.

Thanks for the advice I just had a gut feeling I didn't really need the meds the real health problems is non cardiac chest pain from a car wreck  im taking anti inflammation meds and Kalonapin for anxiety disorder
