weight gain

I am 41 and had a SILS hysterectomy (still have ovaries).  I have gained 10 lbs. since being put on hormones to stop bleeding up untill my surgery.  However, 6 months after the surgery I still can't seem to loose the weight.  I weight train 4-5days a week, do a little cardio and diet like crazy.  Will this weight ever come off?

Hello darling.I'm 37 now,I had subtotal histerectomy back in July 04;started putting on weight without changing my diet or life style.I worked, had my house daughters and husband to look after, danced in a group
then in october 07 i lost my right ovary due to a rupture.moved to Uk,started HRT and changed my diet, but for even healthier
U won't believe but I work as a cleaner, cleaning 2houses a day mostly,I work out twice/wk and swim once a week.My body wouuld b fine if it wasn't for the Barrel shaped belly
but  the doctors say that I have to b more active, eat healthier.I see!  maybe I have to  practice some sports while sleeping and eat water.i also have digestive problem no matter what, how much or what time I eat.;my belly gows so quickly that in half an hour I look like 6months pregnant but the advice is:eat health!I ask my self: Who can I relly on?

This doesn't answer the question of retained weight after a TAH with ovaries intact.  I stregnth train to the point where the trainers at Golds tell me I don't need them.  Short of lifting more than I do ( bench 100lbs, leg press 280lbs) I can see where cardio might help if I were to increase it.  However, these exercise and eating habits have been with me for years.  Why then have I gained 10lbs just because of surgery when I am young and healthy?  Is there a fluid shift since I no longer menstrate or does it take longer for a hormone shift since I no longer then 6 months am on proestrogen?  Or is it age?  And why is it only in my abdomen?  If I ate too much or didn't exercise then you would see weight shifts everywhere.  my BMI is 22 which is normal. I just have a jiggle in my abdomen since the bloat and distension from hormones.  Any clue?

I recommend you seek help from a professional personal trainer. It would pro bally help to enhance your cardio and restrict your claories to a 1200 to 2000 kilo-calorie diet utilizing a calorie counter.

Best wishes,
