Bcg and inh

My 3 yr old was living in the caribbean and was vaccinated with Bcg. he now lives in America. He was given inh vaccine, he came up positive tb test.. Worried about the side effects of both. Can he be over immunized?. Does he really needs inh.

It's common to test positive to TB if you've had the BCG vaccination. The BCG vaccination is a live vaccine. The US does not vaccinate for TB because of the low incidence of TB. Usually having a BCG scar from the vaccination would show the doctor the reason for the positive tuberculin test.
