excessive daytime sleepiness

Hi,
I need some help here, I moved to the States from Europe in 05. Since then I had sleeping issues. Never before then. About last summer I started to be excessively sleepy during the day to the point that after lunch I would sit down in my chair and two hours later my 4 year old would be shaking me "Mommy are you gonna get up?'
This lasted through the fall. At the winter I was fine I slept good. Now it is starting again. I have a hard time falling asleep at night(probably partly fault of the daytime nap).I have too many things on my mind. Wake up multiple times at night I have to go potty often, then can't go back to sleep for hours. I usually fall asleep again around 5:30-6:00 am Just the time my hubby gets up. 30 minutes later he leaves and my son gets up. So the last little sleep is very interupted and have no use at all,but I feel I need it. Then I wake up exhausted. Most nights I think I get about 4-5 hours of sleep but not continous. Have to get through the day. I try to exercise but I'm just too tired most days. We are in the process of renevating the house and we are doing it all so You'd think that I can sleep after painting the whole day, etc. I'm 34 and need some advice. Thanks,

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
You may have insomnia since you are not sleeping well at night. However, insomniacs typically can't nap during the day, and long naps and excessive daytime sleepiness are often signs of an underlying sleep disorder such as sleep apnea or even narcolepsy. Therefore, you should be evaluated at a sleep clinic.
