Echo shows diastolic problem

Main History: lupus/sarcoid/3stage breastcancer/mastectomies/chemo/radiation (last done six years ago).  Presently have echo done once a year.  Showed mitral valve leak-slight two years ago -- no change this year (told normal for age -61).  Been having symptoms of extreme nerve pain -- mostly chest, upper thighs, down legs, spine and feet for a few weeks.  Also had two bites treated as bee stings, but to me look like Lymes.  Target look for both, upper left arm (where nodes were taken out), very warm to the touch, flu-like symptoms.  Treated with antibiotics for bee or spider bites; gave me penicillin to which I am allergic -severe headaches and they know that.  After two days, stopped them.  Still have pain and just had routine echo for this year.  It showed mitral valve same, but diastolic problem. Told by primary that I will have to go on ACE inhibitor because this means my heart is not slowing between beats.  By the way, I have been on 120 mgs a day of Inderal LA for severe migraines, throwing PVC and palpitaitions for 18 years -- fabulous medication.  Question:  Since my BP - diastolic is never (except one recent time after bites) above 80 and usually 60 to 74, this could be a false reading if the bites were in fact Lymes disease or not relationship?  Also, my upper number - systolic - has been elevated off and on for years, but not consistent - between 117 to 154 (in 50's only rarely).  I don't want to have to go on medication I don't need as I have other health issues.  Thanks for any help you can give me.  Gip

The diastolic function of the heart is best assessed by the echocardiogram and it relates to how the heart relaxes and fills with blood.  Both beta blockers (INDERAL) and ACE inhibitors help the diastolic function and both may be helpful to you.

Hi there,

Yesterday I posed a question on here about diastolic problems showing up in an echo (Gip) and received an email this morning that there was a response.  Yet, I am now in here and I can't see any response.  Can someone tell me how to find it?  Duh, thanks Gip.
ps.  as you can tell, I am new to this board.
