These are defects (areas of the heart) where the counts of radioactivity are decreased. This can be due to a prior heart attack or absorption of the radioactivity by the soft tissues of the body. The fact that the wall motion and ejection fraction are normal likely means that the test has an artifact due to the soft tissue absorbing the radioactivity. This result can occur when the test is done in patients who are large and have alot of soft tissue to absorb the radioactivity from the isotope used in the study.
Dear Dr. Bogart,
I appreciate your answer and your time !
Along with the other sections of the Stress Test and the CT scan and the Echocardigram, which I could already understand, your explaination, is most helpful.
Of course, I will see my own doctor, but I needed your provided information in advance, so that I may ask him intelligent questions.
Thank you so much !
