is this normal

is this normal ?

when you take a deep breath, is it normal for you pulse to quickly rise by 20-30 beats per minute, and then fall back to the previous level in short order?

i noticed this happening since i have started wearing a heart rate monitor, after i had been getting tachycardia in my sleep

i also have similar spikes when i first stand up, but it usually falls back again within 30 seconds-1 min.  is that normal too?

Chelstar is right, the heart rate does go up slightly when we stand up to compensate for blood moving to the lower part of our body, and then returns to normal as the body adjusts

I'm pretty sure that is normal, because your heart is beating faster to accommodate the rise in oxygen.  I am 80% positive that I did an experiment lab in an anatomy class that demonstrated that fact.  Hopefully someone else will confirm this.
