Small simple renal cortical cyst

My husband has been sufferering from abdominl pain for several days.  He had ultrasound and the result was there is a small simple renal cortical cyst left.  Should I be worried?  Is there a treatment for this?

Sorry for the late response... if they've been classified as "simple cysts" then there's no worrying. Just make sure he follows up with his urologist about every 6 months or so for follow up CT's to make sure they're not turning into 'complex cysts'.

The treatment to remove them is called a "Cysts Decortication". The urologist quite simply goes in, and burns the f*cker of by cutting the 'lid' off it, then cauterizing it. I had this done earlier in the year and it pretty much took care of my cysts pain. I had constant, nagging pain (level 3-5 at any given point), and the decortication dropped my daily pain level to a very manageable 2-3, tops).

Good luck and keep us posted.
