mother in immense pain

I am a 25 year old mother of 4, 7 weeks postpartum. Throughout my entire pregnancy I would have protein in my urine which my ob said was perfectly normal. I had a hemorrhage about 2 weeks after I gave birth, heart rate has been 40-50 bpm with activity! Insanely low. Lately I have been having a lot of pain in my ribs and in my back, had a urine test yesterday and came back with a large volume of blood in my urine, my question is what could be causing this? PLEASE HELP ME!

Hello and hope you are doing well.

Understand your predicament.

This could be renal colic. Small stones can obstruct the passage of urine and when the body tries to 'push' against the blockade this results in colic, which is severe attacks of pain. The other causes for the pain could be infections of the bowel and bladder, prolapsed intervertebral disc or inflammatory diseases of the colon. Please consult your primary care physician who will do blood tests, x- rays and may ask for an ultrasonogram to find out the cause for the pain.

Hope this helped and do keep us posted.

It sounds like one of two things to me.  either a severe infection, which the doctor should have caught, or some sort of autoimmune disease.  Presenting with autoimmune diseases in pregnancy is quite common.  I would see either a urologist, and/or a rheumotologist
