My mom was diagnosed with kidney failure many years ago. The highest that creatinine level has gotten was 3.8 it goes up and down. It had gone down to 1.9 and then back up to 2.5. She has a lot of trouble walking, it became slower and slower and now she can only go outside of the house in a wheelchair. She took maleril for years and a neurologist says it caused some form of Parkinsons, they really don't know for sure. Her muscles got weak.
Hi,
How is your Mom? What are the symptoms present? Creatinine level usually varies according to a person's size and muscle mass. This may change depending on medical conditions present or if there is change in weight. Normal results is 0.6 to 1.1 mg/dL for women and higher than normal level may be due to blocked urinary tract, kidney problems, dehydration, or muscle problems, such as breakdown of muscle fibers. It is best that she checks with her attending physician also for proper evaluation. Take care and do keep us posted.
