Possible major kidney issues?

Let me tell you my story about my health and the past three months.

Basically, I was dumb one night, and in extreme depression took 50 325mg aspirin [I am between 130 and 135 at all times, but was 130 at the time] and three servings of dayquil. As you can imagine I had every OD symptom, but didn't throw up until about five hours after taking it. I did not go to the ER, and just slept it out.

Prior to that episode I only drank a total of 3 glasses of water a day, often in the form of iced tea and soda. That was for about a full month until I started drinking properly again.

Well, about two weeks after I started getting blood in my urine. So I went to the doctor, they said I probably had a UTI, and gave me medication [Don't remember what it was, but I do know my mother said it was one of the super strong ones]. The blood went away, but a few weeks later came back. Went to the doctor again, said I probably had PID [They ran STI and STD tests, and said I had none, however], gave me two super strong medications for that. Again the blood went away. It came back for a day, but since it went away I just ignored the whole thing.

I actually went to the doctor yesterday due to a plethora of symptoms [Which I will name in a moment]. My doctor never actually told me what was wrong, just had a nurse bring me a prescription for Cipro and told me if the symptoms persisted then it was probably Gynecological [Which I had already explained I was already seen for such problems, AND treated for such problems, and it was not so]. All they did was take a urine sample. My receipt said they ordered a Comprehensive Metabolic Panel, but they only took a urine sample. If it's actually possible to do that with urine and tell me how my kidneys are doing, how long would that take?

Anyhow, my symptoms are:

Constant nausea [Not acid. Have taken medication for acid, and it still persists, and it feels much different from acid], extreme extreme exhaustion [One day I slept for 12 hours. Woke up feeling great, but 4 hours later I felt as though I hadn't slept in 24 hours], a few weeks back I had an odd taste in my mouth, increased urination [Although more recently I am not going as much], trouble holding urine, sharp middle and lower back pains with some spine pain [As well as some sharp pains on my lower sides. The middle pain is right where my ribs are], finger swelling, trouble concentrating, memory issues, headaches, chest pain [Tonight I woke up and the left side of my chest had a sharp pain and my arm was somewhat numb, but I am a healthy eater], just feeling completely tired and weak [Basically I had meant to go to the doctor on Tuesday and knew I needed to but just did not have the strength until today], odd urine smell, a few times tea-colored urine, my urine is pale at odd times [When I don't drink much] and dark at odd times [When I do drink a lot], irregular and light periods [I had suspected pregnancy, but took a test at what would have been five weeks. Then I got my period, super light and a month late. My last period was even lighter and a month late, too. My periods are not normally irregular, and are always super heavy, no matter how stressed I am], and sometimes leg numbness.

I think that's about it.

And actually, when I woke up tonight I hadn't eaten in twelve hours and I was simply not hungry at all. I could tell my stomach was empty, but it wasn't hungry. This is also peculiar because I am hungry a lot. I cannot go that long without feeling ravenous.

Yes you should get a GFR done. It will involve blood tests and urine tests. The apirin may have affected your kidneys and you need to be honest with the doctor about what happened. I am so sorry you got to the point of depression where you tried to kill yourself. I have bipolar disorder and have had many nights of deperation myself. I've seen people who gibbled their brains pretty badly with a pill overdose though so I couldn't ever use that as a method of suicide. There are things worse than death.

I hope your kidney healed well from the incident. Kidney's can repair themselves to an extent. Push your doctor to get a GFR done. It will tell you specifically what your kidney function is.

have you told ur doctor about taking all of the aspirin??? Aspirin and other anti inflammatories are filtered through the kidneys..it is possible you are having some renal dysfunction. Stop the aspirin and see ur doctor for more blood work. You need to get ur GFR and creatine measured. Drink lots of water and if you're young and otherwise healthy ur kidneys should turn around. This can be serious so see your dr immedately.

Well, it's sharp a lot. Just more often it feels like my back has heartburn or something like that.

Oh, the back pains aren't usually sharp. They are often ache-y in a way. Not similar to back pain when you pull a muscle or have sclerosis, but kind of like a pain that a back would feel if it had heartburn, I guess?
