He is feeling a little bit better. The hospital took close to 20 lbs of fluid off of him after I sent him back again even though they kept telling me the lab work didnt show fluid retention. Thank you

How is your husband? Serum creatinine test is done to see how well the kidneys work. A normal result is 0.7 to 1.3 mg/dL for men but may vary slightly among different laboratories. Higher than normal levels may be due to a variety of conditions such as acute tubular necrosis, dehydration, Glomerulonephritis, urinary tract obstruction, pyelonephritis and even kidney failure. Also, glomerular filtration rate or gfr that is below 60 may indeed suggest kidney disease. It is best that you discuss the results with your husband's attending physician or be referred to a nephrologist for proper evaluation. Take care and do keep us posted.
