It wouldn't hurt to see your pcp and let him/her check it out. Could be as simple as an in-grown hair that has caused an infection or something more serious. Your doctor can physically check it out and run a few blood tests that would be helpful in determining what is going on.
Please keep us posted on your progress. I hope this helps!
I woke up with the symptoms and they have persisted for over a week now. They are pretty steady maybe increasing a little bit in discomfort. There does not appear to be a lump but the area around the pain is red in colour and the skin is minorly chapping. Does this sound like a swollen lymph node? If not thank you, but is so what could cause a one spot swollen lymph node in my armpit if I did not overextend my arm?
Hi Toronto, sorry to hear you are having discomfort. There are a lot of things that could be causing this.
Did you strain or overextend your arm? Did this gradually occur or did you just wake up one morning with the symptom? Has it worsened? Do you feel a lump in your armpit? Is there any discoloration?
Have you seen a doctor for this? It wouldn't hurt to have a doctor check it out. It would be helpful to get a little more information.
I wish I could be of more help.
