leukimia risk

Hi guys
Just wondering if my daughter had blood noses since she was 2 years old and they are more frequent now. Does leukemia symptoms come on within a few weeks or can you have sypmtoms for years. Does anyone know the link between pesticides and childhood cancer and xrays. Im worried because she had an xray unnecessarily when she was  1 and half years old on her chest and upper abdomen. Also the unit complex we live in did not inform us that they were doing anuually termite pesticide sprays while I was 7 weeks pregnant and when she was born.

Hi, when leukemia results in bleeding, it's because platelets are low. But your daughter's CBC blood test will likely show that her platelets are normal.

Hi.
I have no idea, if you can afford to go for a second opinion, & discuss your concerns about your daughter, or how old she is, but you should bring it up next time you go to the doctors because if could be something else causing the nose bleeds. If you decide to try a humidifier they come in different sizes, & you will need to take that into concideration.(also ask questions to the sales person) A lot of them are smaller units, & they wont do the job. I bought ours online, after making the mistake of  going to k-mart, & buying the only 1 they had, but it only worked in a small area, & i had to fill it quite often like 4-5 times an evening. Later i found nice  new,1 on e-bay that only required filling with water twice a day, which also cured my baby of her breathing problems. Smaller units like 'vicks', have a spot to put their product on top, which can run into some money. Remember, you do not have to go that way, & just water works well on the larger units.  Also you will want to have the mist going in the direction of your child. Many things to take into concideration including the size of the room. Also her age, if she is in school yet, or does she spend a lot of time outside with you. You are computor literate, so you could also just do a search on, "bloody noses", & go from there! Also you did not mention how often she has her nose bleeds, except 'more often?'  Again, i wanted to emphasize i am not a doctor. What worked for my baby, might not necessary work for ur daughter. (I live in a cold climate area, & i use old pot on top of a radiator filled with water which helps keep moisture in the rooms. old fashion ways of life! When we were growing up, my parents use to have a pot on each radiator! Now a days, most houses do not have radiator, even. )  You also could try a different post to post your question, such as 'bloody noses?'  Good luck, & i hope you find a solution to your problem, soon!

This is a lot shorter and not my life story. Do you live in a dry climate? If so, it could be all you need is a vaporizor, or a humidfier, to help keep air moist. Something this simple, could be a solution  for her bloody noses. Also you will want to make sure that the unit is somewhat close to your baby, BUT, not to close to where your baby might touch it, & burn herself! (also a baby is going to pick up on your emphathy, if you show signs of fear & worry) She is your baby, & you have ALL the reasons in the world to be worried! I wish the best for both of you. Hope this might  had helped, & please keep us informed! Steven

Being a parent &  seeing my baby once starving for oxygen, i can understand your worry! Many years ago in my state, their was a family that moved to our state, & they all starved & died of carbon monoxide poisoning, cas the old people that sold the house never declared that their driveway had a faulty heating system delivering piosonous carbon monoxide readings. Few years later, our state started enforcing a law into effect, & owners had to declare, & sign papers saying they were not aware of any faulty systems. Next came a law for wireless monoxide testers to be installed in every apartment house & dorm.(hard wired)  I doubt , & surely hope that is not happenning to your daughter, BUT, There could be a much simpler solution to your lil baby, & that is dry air, expecially if you happen to have a dry air heating systom, or just live in a dry climate. I am shocked that a doctor has not mentioned a humidfier, & try to run it close to your baby, to keep the air moist.(when i was a baby, i sufferred from asma and my mom had to use 1 of the old fastion vaporizors. I grew out of as i became older. I have no idea if where you live if it is dry, but this could be as simple a solution to your baby having a dry nose, & thus making her have frequent bloody noses. I want to stress i am not a doctor, but i have seen it all & been, & done it all in the past. Currently the last 2 years it got so bad, i sufferred a bad stroke, & years of carbon monoxide poisoning, & notious toxic poisoning from paint fumes being locked up in  trains, while i use to paint the insides of trains with no oxygen support, so all the other employees would not smell the fumes. (good pay can make a person stupid!) Just recently, i had to put my own "smarts" into effect, cas it actually looked like i was dying with mottled veins, & 30 pounds of excess swelling, & purple lips, & closed eye & ect!, so i called the oxygen company because my doctor, & every other doctor would not help me! My o2  SAT. level was dropping to 80 percent at diffent parts of the evening. I showed this to my doctor, a social worker, & they still have not ordered a prescription for my oxygen!!, so i went & proceeded to have another LARGE tank delivered the other day. Just in 1 weeks time my swelling has decreased, i can think straight, my eyes are wide open, & my lips r not purple or swollen anymore. Doctors can make mistakes, but this day & age the medical community does know about oxygen therapy, but it keep the drug companies in business and the hospitals! I,m sorry for the later of my story, but it might help other people that need oxygen therapy.(i not only almost died, but i lost a lot of brain cells & got sick of people laughing at me cas i was not a doctor!) I want to apologize for my anger on the medical society. NOW, just want to emphasize that your poor baby might be just sufferring from DRY AIR SYNDROM. (my own term for it) Either you could try a vaporizor, or a humidfier to help keep the air moist, or seek help from another doctor, & ask him if this could be the problem for her having so many bloody noses. I hope i have not offended the medical society. I do hope that your baby gets the best possible care available, &  i dont even know if anyone ever even brought it to your attention? A vaporizer is safe, & the newer ones even have menthol to add to it. I also suggest, if this is the problem to go out & buy a larger unit, that would not require filling up so often. They have some that last 12 hours, before you have to fill them back up with water. I do hope this suggestion helps you, & your baby, & anyone else out their. (use to be a good speller, until i got so much brain damage!)
