I just wrote an entire paragraph and it got deleted -___- Yeah, I visited the doctor about a swollen tonsil I've noticed about a month ago and the doctor batted me off twice and said it was nothing. My blood tests results have come back clear which means I definitely do not have lymphoma. That's what the doctor said, which I think is BS. I had a slightly swollen lymph node in my neck 2 weeks ago when I visited and the doctor said it wasn't swollen and was normal size. 2 weeks later and it's bigger... You can't see it but it can be felt with ease unlike before. The doctor has now acknowledged that it's swollen so I've been referred to see an ENT specialist for a second opinion as my doctor still believes it's a viral infection. I'm currently too depressed to even leave my house. I have a job interview tomorrow and I don't know whether I can face it. Everything is just blergh. Everybody I've read about with a swollen tonsil and lymph node on the same side has been diagnosed with lymphoma. It is very rare for it to manifest itself in a tonsil but it's gotta happen to someone right? I'm 21 at the moment so I'm at peak age for Hodgkin's lymphoma. I have to wait for about 2 months to see this ENT specialist which means it's going to constantly play on my mind until then. Ugh. I don't know. Hopefully you get the help you need anyway, blood tests are a step in the right direction I guess but see an ENT anyway. Better safe than sorry.
I forgot to add that he took my blood and wants me back in a week. I will not go back to him. I will call to see about my results but I will not step foot in that mans office. If there are any doctors that read this post, please listen to the patient. The patient is there for a reason and most likely they are scared. Please be kind.
