I feel like i am going through a waxing and waning process.
The pain especially waxes and wanes. It is usually better in the morning and then progressively gets worse. Some days the pain is better than others.
Overall though the pain has diminished so its too early for me to say whether this is going to resole or not.
I also get a tingling sensation down my shoulder. This is likely to be the nodes affecting the nerves in the area.
The problem with epstein barr is that A) most people have had it so will test positive. And if everybody has had it, then it doesnt help to pin down the case of the symptoms.
B) The test doesnt tell you when yo had EBV.
In my case I was tested for it and it came up as positive. The report said I had a past infection but as I just said, its impossible to know whether it occurred, within the last month or last 10 years.
So I have completely discounted EBV as the cause.
i keep hearing there are many other possible reasons for swollen nodes but actually theres only a few. Lymphoma, or infection.
If its likely to be infection, which infection are we talking about? why havent i been tested for all of them?
can they be tested for?
I dont have access to the sonogram report. But while i was there, the radiographer said it looked normal. The only thing she couldnt tell me was whether there was distal enhancement of the node. could this be another indicator of lymphoma?
Nope, Jim, you are not right.
Famous persistent infections are Epstein Barr and Lyme, with many others possible.
Nodes can also get scarred internally (fibrosis) and not go down.
Can you post your sonogram report?
