Lung Cancer

I am 27 year old female, smoker for 10 years. Anxiety issues for several years. About 6 months ago started noticing pain on the lower inner portion of left scapula, along with neck pain upon moving it certain ways, and tingling in upper left back and arms (infrequent in the arm) Also have been told that I have several "stress knots" in the area of the pain. Muscles always very tight and tense. Went to get an x-ray of thoracic back, as my doctor thinks I mught have some kind of muscle or nerve issue, he stated he wanted to rule out any "bone issues or tumors." He said that and I about fell off the chair. Could the pain be related to lung cancer?  Breathing never laboured, no coughing up blood. Though I am tired all the time and have gained a little weight over the past year...

Hi,

I am sorry, i missed the smoking history - it would be best to get a chest xray done and also to stop smoking immediately.

Consult a chest physician and enrol yourself in one of the smoking cessation clinics if you have a problem in quitting.

Regards.

Hi,

Do you smoke?

You could get a chest xray and ECG done to rule out any pulmonary or cardiac cause of your symptoms.

Considering your age, and other factors , the chances that you have cancer are highly unlikely.

Let us know about what the reports say.

Regards.
