Hi
I had lobectomy on 05/02/08 & am STILL having trouble sleeping.
I think a lot is because it's hard to get comfortable.  Also (in my case at least), worry about when(if) I will be able to be back at work/ how will we pay the bills without me working much longer/ when will the pain end (when can I wear a bra again?!?)/ will I get addicted to Norco/ etc, etc, etc.  My brain doesn't turn off.
Or about the time I fall asleep my husband rolls over to cuddle & manages to whack my incision.
I hope your recovery goes quickly and that you feel better soon

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,

Sleeplessness or insomnia can have many causes, including stress, excitement, or environmental changes. It can be temporary or long-term, lasting from a few nights to a few weeks. Chronic Insomnia lasts longer than a month.

Insomnia can be due to many causes like medications, taking tea or coffee before going to bed, Life problems like fear, stress, anxiety, emotional or mental tension, excessive day time sleepiness and certain medical conditions.

You can take some sedatives or sleeping pills after consulting your doctor. Some traditional and anecdotal remedies for insomnia include: drinking warm milk before bedtime, taking a warm bath, eating a large lunch and then having only a light evening meal at least three hours before bed, avoiding mentally stimulating activities in the evening hours, going to bed at a reasonable hour and getting up early, and avoiding exposing the eyes to too much light, especially blue light, a few hours before bedtime.

Relaxation and meditation may also help you.But if the problem persists then pls take the appointment of your doctor/sleep specialist and get yourself examined.

Do keep us posted.
