MY PET SCAN SHOWED A GROWTH IN THE SUV FROM 2.9 TO 5.
I HAVE ADENOCARCINOMA LUNG CANCER STAGE 3B
THE RIGHT LOBE HAS BEEN REMOVED BECAUSE OF A MASS
THE CANCER HAS SPREAD TO MY LYMP NODES..
TOOK 4 CHEMO TREATMENTS.
DO I NEED TO TAKE MORE TREATMENTS? WOULD THEY HELP.
WHAT ARE THE SURVIVAL RATE FOR MY KIND OF CANCER?

Mary_kay is so right!...My mom is a 5 YEAR survivor of lung cancer...had the lower 2 lobes of her right lung removed, then, 6 months later, 4 rounds of 2 different types of chemo, and thru it all she also had to fight an infection she got in the remaining lobe of her right lung!...For her, the surgery was much harder than the chemo...we jokingly call her the "tough old bird"...she has a cast iron stomach!! The chemo(s) made her tired, and bald, but really that was all...and around here, "bald is beautiful"!! I crocheted her some fun wild colored caps...and there were many people who asked where she got them... She also had a 7 week stay and a 9 week stay in the hospital for IV antibiotics and antifungals. Today, she is on oxygen 24/7, but is doing really well! Take Care

I don't think anyone really knows the survival rate for any of us.  Yes, they have statistics, but the last thing we need is a number in our heads.  I had a lobectomy for lung cancer, and was told at the wonderful cancer center I went to that the assumption is that the cancer is gone.  When it is operable, that is good!  I had only 2 chemo treatments and decided the poisonous sickness from that was not worth it.  Focus on living a healthy lifestyle, do the things you love to do, and laugh a lot.  I try to remember that no one really knows if this is their last day.
