Does anyone know of a doctor in Nashville, TN that has successfully removed large fibroids?
Know it's way behind when the topic was posted, but for anyone new looking for info, I had an abdominal myo August 5th 2010, 1 fibroid (looked like "horse balls" according to my Dr.) approx 20 cm x 16 cm, from the outside of my uterus likely compressing EVERYTHING.
I was on Lupron Depot prior to surgery for 6 months, made sure I was just due for the next injection at the time of surgery so it would get out of my system faster.
Started AF October 14th. First cycle was off, ovulated a week later then I normally would. Dr, said I could try as soon as AF returned, as long as it was a least 3 months post surgery.
I've been HIGHLY suggested to have a C-Section if/once I do become pregnant.
I'm now on Femara, even though I appear to ovulate normally, after so long of trying he was willing to try and increase the odds.

My reply does not answer your question. I'm just explaning my situation.I have a fibroid much bigger than yours. I had a m/c last month. Though my doctor said my m/c is not due to the presence of Fibroid. I didnot know of the fibroid prior to my U/s before my m/c. Doc said that the fibroid must have grown due to the pregnancy harmones. I had regular periods. So my doc told me to wait and see until they create a probelm in future. There is a link which might help you.

I have two - one is about 5.5 cm. x 5 cm, the other is about 4x5 cm. They have caused my uterus to enlarge to the size of about a 14 week pregnancy. My doctor thinks one of them is compressing one of my tubes (both tubes appeared blocked on my HSG a few weeks ago).
thanks for the link and sharing your story. I'm sorry about your loss.
I've know about my fibroids for quite some time. My doctor was taking a wait and see appproach until I had the HSG that showed the tube problem. Whether the fibroids are compressing the tubes or the tubes are just blocked on their own, I need the surgery before any next steps (probably IVF).
