I am a 42 year old and just found out I am pregnant after being on HRT since '94.  I was told my ovary (one previously removed) was not functioning at that time so I did not think it was possible for me to conceive.  I was having two periods a month for three months with my last period on Jan. 25.  I spotted one day on Feb. 7.  I was having a lot of pain in my stomach and saw a doctor on Mar. 10 who felt I was constipated.  Since then I have taken 3 Fleet Enemas and 26 pkgs. of Duphalax Crystals along with some extra strength tylenol.  I only started to have morning sickness which lasted all day and night and still have it quite often the week of Mar. 22.  I had a blood test last week which was positive.  I was told it was a high level positive and am waiting for an ultra sound.  My concern is that I have taken, since Jan. 25, 52 Premarin and 17 Provera along with the other stuff for constipation.  What are the changes of this baby being born with no side effects.  I am wondering if I should terminate the pregnancy because of the medication and my age.

With a history such as yours, the best advice would be to contact your health care provider for a referral to a genetics counselor.
