: Generally, we recommend a patient wait @ 3 months to try to conceive again.  This will usually allow her body time to return to its pre-pregnant state.  Many patients do however, conceive immediately and have no complications.  Consult your Obstetrician/Certified Nurse Midwife for more specific information.

Thanks for answering back so quickly.
How quickly do some couples conceive.  Don't you have to wait at least  until you have
your first menstrual after or is your d&c considered your first.  I'm just
confused, curious and anxious

As we said, we usually recommend a wait of 3 months to return to your prepregnant state.  This would usually allow for one or two normal periods to occur.  You may very well conceive before your first period if you have unprotected intercourse.  Ovulation will occur @ 2 weeks before your period, this is your fertile time.  We do not consider the D & C your first period.
