Is this rude?

One of my patients at work today asked me if I was concerned that I might not lose my baby weight. I weigh 15lbs less than I did before I had my baby and I weigh less than 120 lbs. and I'm 5'5. So asked him, "do I need to be" and he says, "no. I'm sure once you really motivate yourself to diet and exercise the weight will fall off and I'm sure you'll eat less once you aren't nursing anymore." Ummm...ok...I wasn't sure how to respond but I thought it was kind of out of line. How would you girls take something like that?

I wasn't offended as much as I was shocked. He's 40 so he's definitely old enough to know better. I actually feel very confident about my weight. It's healthy. He has the kind of mentality that make women feel self conscious and feel the need to be anorexically thin. I find that sickening!

That is rude. Regardless if you'd lost your baby weight or not it was not his place to comment on it. I'd be annoyed.

How old was he? I think that is rude, and i don't think you're even overweight to start with! I'm not sure what pounds work out to be in kilos, but i think i'm about 100 pounds, and 5'2, and i'm classed as underweight! If he was old and didn't look as though he knows what he's on about, i'd just not worry about it and shrug it off, some people just don't know what they're talking about.
