That sounds like a cool site. Im not sure ill do it tho. Ill think about it :)
Caring Bridge is a great tool. My sis in law is on there (Jenica Flickinger) if you ever get bored and want to read a novel...Also, on facebook message Gracie Faith SIDS prevention program. They will let you use a monitor (like what I use for Cadence) for the first year of his life. Being a preemie, he has higher odds of SIDS. This will help monitor him 24/7 (even in a carseat) and give you comfort. The gal that started it lost her baby girl right before Cadence was born at 21 days old. She is friends of a friend of mine in Alaska. You can let her know I told you about the program. :)
Caring bridge is a non profit website that is set up for families to use to keep family and friends updated when there is someone in the hospital for an extended amount of time. I've had a few family members and friends have one for themselves or their child. It can be a nice way to keep people updated so you don't feel you have to call/text/email a million people.
I know it's hard leaving him, but I'm sure it won't be too long til he gets home. Maybe this will give you some extra time to get things ready for him, and a bit more sleep, as you know when he gets home it's all going to be full on!!
What's that? Ive never heard of that before.
Im going home tomorrow evening. Im ready but I dont want to leave here without Degan. I feel bad leaving him..
That's so great that he is getting the hang of the bottle. I'm sure he'll figure out nursing in no time. Are you going to set up a Caringbridge page for him?
Hes doing well today. Gonna try breast feeding here in a bit. His suck is doing ok with a bottle. Hes slowly gaining a little weight now at 3 lbs 4 oz. So that's good news.they let me hold him more and more and he loves it.
How is the little guy today?
They said I can go home tomorrow but I asked for a few more days. Im having a hard time with the idea of leaving here without Degan. And im not ready to move as im still hurting pretty bad
Hes been taken off the breathing machienes to see how he does. So far so good but going to put him back on here in a minute. Still needs a little help. He does ok for a couple min the it slows down then goes back to normal... is that normal? Nurses are saying it is because hes so young. He weighs 3 lbs even right now. So he lost a littler weight. Later on today after he has a few test run they are going to let me try some skin to skin time with him. So excited. My family will be here soon. So all of my kids will be spending time with us. My oldest son is doing well. Hes such a trooper. I owe him some major mommy time here soon. I kinda feel bad. There has been alot of changes this year. Just afraid he is feeling left out :(
That's wonderful that you got to hold him! I bet he just loved it too. I bet those three are going to be the best of friends. How is your oldest handling all this?
SO glad you got to hold him! Can't wait for the next update on how he's off the feeding tubes and nursing! :)
How exciting!! I bet he's absolutely precious!!
How wonderful that would've been holding him for the first time! Yes, scary thought 3 kids under 1 lol. Just think of all the nappies! (Or should I say diapers) yes you will have your hands full but cherish every moment as they all grow so fast! At least they will all grow up in one hit, not stretched out through the years!
Awww so happy u got to hold your little one and that's a funny point your dad brought up lol potty training will be interesting
