No flick, you are not a nutcase!! I am sure the immunisations have nothing to do with anything....in my personal opinion you made the best decision there. But i've been dying to tell you, when i went grocery shopping last saturday, a lady stopped me while i had Bailey sitting in the trolley. She wanted to know how old he was, and when did he start sitting on his own etc.. because she said her grandson who was only 10 weeks old had GERD. She was worried because he'd had surgery and because he'd been so sick he hadn't been having any floor time or anything to develop any skills. I told her i knew someone else who had the same problem (yes, you! lol) and i'm sure he'll catch up. I had my daughter 7 weeks premature and she was always 2 months behind, but i tell you, they do catch up by the time they're 1. The worst thing you can do is compare Cady to any other baby, they all develop at their own pace.
Sorry i had no advice about the hubby lol!!! But i certainly know what you mean, as soon as Bailey cries he gets passed over to me 'oh he wants mummy' so yeah sometimes i'm always dealing with the same thing too. I always just say 'oh, i think its daddy time' pass him over, and leave it at that.
Flick, you are doing a wonderful job as a mom and a wife.
Never compare your baby to another. That will only drive you nuts. They all develope at their own pace. And i pinky promise, she will catch up.and.kick the other babies butts! Haha
As for hubby.... maybe a swift kick in the bum? Mama needs a nap too!
When my boys get that way and it happen often, I give them both a warm batch then lay them on my bed next to me and kinda snuggle them. Rub backs and pat the butts. Some times it works and some times it doesnt. I have noticed, native american flutes sooth them almost instant. Very calming
And for shots, you did the right thing mama. We want whats best for.our babies even if that means a little needle poke from dr.. i was worried aboit them too with my first babe. Hang in there lady, you got this! And youve got us!!
Thankyou. I needed that. Yah we don't get tummy time often with her belly so she rolled over 3 times.. but that's it. She isn't putting everything possible in her mouth, just her fist, binkie, and my fingers. She still holds her hands in fists, she doesn't bat at things. I put her in her jumper and turn the lights n music on and she just stares. I guess its reading all the articles on what to expect at 2 months 3 months ext...on top of seeing first hand how other babies are doing. The article I read put a correlation between bowel issues in babies and autism and then linked it back to the MMR shot. Doesn't help we go in Tuesday for more shots.
But ultimately....why am I so stinking moody? It's PMS on steroids.
Flick, my first son was that way until about 5 months. He just looked around and wasnt sure about putting things in his mouth. When he was 3 months old he still held his hands in fits ( my twins still do also ) i had this bouncer i would put my oldest in amd he would just stare at the lights ntil around 4 months then he started to try and grab. Baby will learn at her own pace. Patients is all it takes. Get down and move things atound for her. They also learn by seeing. May help.
Mood maybe due to stress..pms and steroids might help too. Hang in there, everything will balance out sooner or.later. take what you read with a grain of salt. Theres too much info out there that can be way over whelming.
I've tried moving things around interacting and all that. I guess swing her at 4 months next to someone her own age took my patience to a stop.
Ya I dont get men they get into these weird routines..have you like tried and talked to him about what is going on ? He is like avoiding something sounds like..and when Kendrick was getting older he didnt nap much and is becoming more cranky bc he is teething. .
I heard the same thing about shots but Kendrick still got his..I mean if you think about it doctors cant administer all these shots to babies and have bad effects they would be sued all the time
I agree with Emma. Children develop at different speeds. I have seen babies walk at 9 months and I have seen babies not start walking until 16 months and even with all that time between when they are 2 years old nobody can tell who walked early and who walked late. Just keep working with her and she will get to where she needs to be.
As far as your hubby goes men are kinda stupid. I don't mean any disrespect to men by saying that but they just don't get it a lot of the time. I've been with my hubby for 14 years and I still have to directly ask him to do 80% of stuff. It's not that he doesn't care or doesn't want to help he just doesn't realize I need help if I don't ask. So my advice is next time you need a hand, even though you don't feel you should have to, just ask him and see what happens.
About vaccines. I have vaccinated all of my children and will continue to do so. Most of the stuff you see about how bad vaccines are is very one sided and not well researched. I've researched this and discussed this with my doctor in length and I completely trust him on the topic. Another reason to vaccinate is because we are seeing outbreaks of illnesses that we had wiped out. The reason for this is the increased number of people coming here from countries that don't vaccinate.
I'm all for vaccinations. The only one I was questioning was the MMR. There was a study that found a connection to the measles vaccine. I've got a sis in law who will believe anything certain people or articles say and hasn't vaccinated her son. Of course she is very outspoken about it and convinced our mil about it. All this put together is me second guessing myself.
As for talking to the man...aka husband....i tried. Then of course he does something stupid. And gets annoyed because I asked him to so something. I blow my top ans go to be by myself to cool off....and then he avoids me to the point of sleeping on the couch.I feel like I can't win. Doesn't help with this moodiness. If I didn't know better is think I was pregnant again.
