Ya sounds like in a way the baby is teething I would say get some oralgel and just stick with teething toys since the baby doesnt like Pacificers
Kendrick is starting to do this also he looks so cute like an old man haha but he likes pacifiers but just in case ill get some blistex later on if his lips get chapped..flick do u think her baby is teething also?
Tomorrow is right! My oldest son did this amd still has issues.. he loved chewing and sucking his lower lip over anything else. It became so chapped at one point (7 months old ) that drinking a bottle caused pain.. dr gave me the ok to use blistex lip balm. Have her keep his lips clean and try to get him from picking. It can and will spread to other areas. Not fun... hard to do with a 5 month old since hands are always in mouth lol.
And another trick I have done ( make sure it is firm and clean ) are carrots. Hold it and watch them. But letting them suck on a carrot seems to help. Its cold and solid and has a texture that seem to be wonderful. Frozen anything I have learned can hurt due to being too.cold.
I've seen babies do this at work. All you can do is keep introducing other things to suck on. I would also put something like unscented unflavored lipbalm multiple times a day. Odds are that this phase won't last long because he'll learn something new and move on to that. Another thing she should do is keep an eye out for infection, like it starting to spread further on his face.
Yeah...I'm stumped on how to help...the thing about the first time momma group is that we are all first time moms and cab be clueless how to help. LOL
Wow, i've never heard of that before, so i don't really have any advice, but there's got to be something that can help. Maybe it's just a phase? Maybe with it becoming so sore he might just stop?
