A little frustrated

So my two previous children were born via c-section. The first I was in labor for 24hrs, dialated to a 3, and then had an emergency c-section because his heart rate dropped because his cord was wrapped around his neck. My second was because my Dr at the time basically told me I didn't have a choice. I was young so I didn't question it. So this pregnancy I am seeing a different Dr and he asked about my previous C-sections  and after I told him he asked if I wanted another one to which I said not really but do I have a choice. He then tells me that he sees no reason why I couldn't do a trial of labor if I wanted. I can't even tell you how excited this made me. He said I needed to have a consult with an OB/GYN since he's a general practioner. So here's me all happy and excited for two months until I go in for my consult and she shoots the idea down and tells me to pick my babies birthday. I don't know what to do. I got pregnant expecting go have a c-section and was OK with that but now that my Dr said he doesn't see the harm in trying labor I have my heart set on that. What do you ladies think? Am I being selfish for wanting to wait and see what my body does? Plus my hubby and I are a little concerned because she's measuring a week small and a c-section means she'll be born before her due date.

Yes it should totally be your decision. No harm in trying.

I see my regular Dr on the 21st so I'm going to talk to him more about it and see if he can recommend another ob to consult with. If I'm willing to try knowing that I may end up having to have a c-section anyway and it wouldn't be putting either of us I danger I think I should have the right. I was so miserable after my first two if I can avoid it I want to.

It wouldn't hurt to try. Never know if she doesn't let you give it a go. No harm in it in my opinion. See another ob... that *****

Her reasoning was that she thought I would probably have a long labor with little progress and would end up with a c-section anyway.

I agree with the other ladies. Try seeing a different Ob. Some are more conservative than others.

I agree I would get a second opinion one doctor is telling you yes and its possible to have a vagina birth after c sections thats weird that your other doctor is telling you no like she making it not even an option or research options especially since your baby is measuring small

There are some potential complications to consider when givin birth naturaly after havin a cs previously. I would get a diff consult if u really want it though becuase its not impossible just things to keep in mind
