How long will pain using clotrimazole/betamethasone on meatus last?

I went to my doctor yesterday with pain in the urinary tract and tip of penis when I urinate and also it hurt just as bad without urinating. Urine test came back as negative 4 white blood cells. Felt a little bit better during the day but was extremely painful last night so I went to the ER and the doctor prescribed a steroid antifungal cream and told me to put it on the tip of the penis meatus. I did one application last night and really didn't notice much increase or decrease in pain. Talk to my regular doctor today and he told me to go to urologist since it still hurts. It was a little bit better part of the day today. I tried putting the cream on again today and it made the pain significantly worse on the tip of the penis meatus.  After looking up on the internet and found it says not to apply on very thin skin which obviously the meatus is. So now I've gone from about a level 3 pain to seven or eight on the tip. I even ask the pharmacist if this could be used this way and she said yes. I'm hoping the extra irritation and pain from this will subside soon and it will be several days before I can get in to see a urologist for proper tretreatment. I have not been sexually active for a long time so  an STD is most likely not the cause of this condition. obviously the ER doctor shouldn't have prescribed this for this condition.  this medication shouldn't be put on sensitive thin skin. Pissed off that the pharmacist didn'tknow either as I asked her about putting it on there also . any professional advice or input would be appreciated.  Want to know how long extra pain will last from putting this crap on. Meatus is red and maybe a tiny bit swollen.

I don't understand why you think the meatus is thin skin. It is the "eye" of the ****, so to speak, you have flesh there, so no thin skin.

Thin skin is the foresking, and topical cremes like the one you use are also used for this. Steroids will give issues to thin skin if used for a long period.

You seem a bit anxious, expecting for medication to work on the first application. Please keep using it for 5 days and see if it gets better.
