I had a high risk encounter with a stripper 2 years ago. I was tested  3 1/2 months after the encounter for all STD's. My IgG for H2 was .75 at the time.

I was retested this past March and came up positive with an IgG score of 2.45.

I have never had any sores or discomfort until the Doc gave the diagnosis. In the past few months I've noticed itching, a few sharp pains, and dull soreness in my Uretha.

I've heard that an IgG Herpes Select score under 3.5 could be a false positive. Is this true? I remember having cold sores as a kid, so I'm pretty sure I have H1.

Anyway, in the past 2 years after the stripper thing, I 've only been with 2 girs....My ex-wife and my new gal of 8 months. I'm thinking this is a new infection. My ex-wife had been in and out of the hospital for the past two years and has had all types of blood work done, so I'm sure they would have picked it up if she had it. Might be my new gal. What do you think.

Can you give me any input on this? Should I be restested? What are the chances of my recent IgG score for H2 being wrong?

My understanding is that you can not be exposed twice.

It is very rare to not have at least one flare up after the initial infection of HSPV2. It is more likely that your new girl friend has it and you caught it from her. It would have shown up by now from your ex or the stripper. I am not sure about false positive blood tests with herpes and would be inclined to have your levels draw again in 3 months max to see. If you are having any symptoms then it is more than likely you do have it and you should protect you and your partner (even if she gave it to you) from re-exposure. At this point if you have been sexually active and do not know when this happened ( there are people with no symptoms) then it is hard to tell where it came from.
