PAINFUL LUMP UNDER ARMPIT

J_V
NOT TOO LONG AGO I BEGAN TO GET A RAISED BUMP UNDER MY ARMPIT. IT DIDNT HURT TILL I ACTUALLY NOTICED IT, AND THE PAIN WASNT BAD AT ALL.I SEARCHED THE NET AND THE ONLY THING I COULD COME UP WITH WAS THAT I WAS USING MY BROTHERS DEODORANT FOR LIKE 3 TO 4 WEEKS BEFORE THE BUMP SHOWED UP. I STOPED USING HIS DEODORANT AND HAD HIM BUY ME A NEW ONE. HE BAUGHT THE SAME BRAND DEODORANT BUT I THOUGHT NOTHING OF IT SINCE IT WAS NEW THIS TIME. WELL THE BUMP WENT AWAYS AND USED THE NEW DEODORANT. AFTER A WEEK OF USING IT A NEW BUMP ROSE. THIS ONE WAS A LITTLE BIT MORE PAINFUL BUT SMALLER IN SIZE. I FIGURED IT WAS THE BRAND THAT WAS GIVING ME THOSE BUMPS, SO I STOPED USING DEODORANT FOR A WHILE TILL IT WENT AWAY.THEN ABOUT 6 DAYS AFTER IT WAS GONE, I NOTICED A THIRD BUMP THAT RAISED.THE BUMPS FELT LIKE PIMPLES BUT NOT TOO SWOLLEN OR RED. IN OTHER WORDS, ITS HARD TO SEE THE BUMPS UNLESS I POINT THEM OUT TO YOU. WHEN I DID RESEARCH I FOUND OUT THAT THIS COULD BE SWOLLEN LYMPH NODES. IF SO, HOW WOULD I KNOW IF IT IS? AND I KNOW THERE ARE MANY POSSIBILITIES FOR SWOLLEN LYMPHS BUT I WANNA KNOW THE COMMON CAUSES FOR SWOLLEN LYMPHS UNDER ARMPIT.I AM REALLY CONCERNED AND WANT SOME OPINIONS TOO. JUST WANNA KNOW WHAT IT COULD BE.PLEASE HELP... THANK YOU!

What most of you have is nothing more than a boil. this is when there is a small red/pinkish bump under the armpit. do not pop it- it is not a pimple and will come back twice as bad as the first time. They are caused by anti-perspirent deoderants. Use normal deoderants if you must and at all costs avoid spraying directly into the armpit. If they increase in size they are called an abscess, GO TO A DOCTOR. I didn't soon enough and had to have it lanced which was when it was cut open and the blood and puss squeezed out. You don't want to have this happen to you. Sweating is a need and is not something you can avoid. You can mask the odour and the stains by wearing vests under clothes or colours that don't show sweat patches so easily. Sweating is not optional for anyone- everyone from the Queen of England to death row prisoners sweat so instead of trying to stop it if you aren't comfortable then hide it. Hope this helps so you don't have to go through what I did.

I had the same thing, I usually use Speed Stick Deodorant and accidently grabbed anti-perspirant deodorant instead of just deodorant.  A week later I saw what looked like a pimple so I popped it and just some clear fluid came out so I knew it couldn't be a pimple.  The next day it was started getting larger and very painful.  The pain was so bad I had a hard time sleeping.  This was on a Saturday so I made an appointment to see the doctor the Tuesday.  Turns out it had become an abscess, so the doc. put me on antibiotics and pain pills and I'm waiting for the lab results to come back to know the exact bacterial infection I have.  Bottom line, go get it checked, ASAP before it gets worse.  He told me if it had gotten much worse I would have had to have it surgically removed.
