Hi,
As remar has advised, you need to continue the medication along with a medication for blood pressure, as high cholesterol with high BP is a bad combination. As regards gaining weight, you need to look at your calorie intake, reduce it and do regular exercise. Also avoid taking high cholesterol food.If your food consists of more carbohydrate, replace part of it with protein while reducing the overall calorie intake. When you are taking statin drugs, periodic monitoring of liver and kidney health is also important. Also if you want to stop the drug, you have to consult the doctor.

thank you very much for your time and answer. I'll continue taking it until I can talk to my Doc.
I would recommend asking your Dr or pharmacist if these are possible side effects. There could be another reason why you're gaining weight and your BP is up. You should'nt have any side effects from stopping this med but, your Dr put you on it for a reason. I take it you had high cholesterol numbers? See your Dr before you quit taking it. That's just my suggestion.
