Hi all. Wasn't getting any feed back on the urology section so I'll try here. About 3 weeks ago I was having left testicular pain on and off for about 2 weeks. Finally I decided to go to an urgent care where they performed and ultra sound and urinalysis. The ultra sound showed a small hydro cele on the left side, and the UA showed trace blade. The nurse practitioner there told me to make a follow up appointment with my primary care provider. So shortly after I saw my pcp and the UA came back negative, no blood no infection but sent it out for a culture regardless. I was relieved and feeling a lot better. However two days later I work I received a phone call saying the culture showed a uti caused by strep b bacteria. I've been having some back pain and groin pain. I've been on penicillin for almost 4 days and nothing has changed I'm really scared because everything online about strep b in young adults says it's due to some serious underlying conditions or cancer. What could cause this I'm a relatively healthy 25 yr old male. Tested negative for all std's.
They only thing I could think of is that I have suffered from an anal fissure for about year and around the same time all of this started happening a had an anal abscess that I drained on my own about 3 weeks ago. Could this of caused everything??? Any feed back would be really appreciated..
Thanks.
