What could a small discoloured bump or sorts around the scrotum indicate?

O0y
Hi. I noticed this small bump in the shower about a month ago. It's quite small, approximately the size of the radius of a Bic pen and it's a reddish/purple colour. I think that it has decreased in size but it has remained fairly unchanged for about two weeks. It doesn't hurt to touch but while it doesn't exactly hurt to pinch, it feels slightly abnormal without causing pain if you get what I mean.

With regards to location, I am having difficulty telling if it is located on the groin or the scrotum. It is around the borderline and I would be inclined to think that it's just about on the groin area.

I don't believe that it is causing anything overtly negative such as pain. The left side of my testicle hurts frequently but that is due to a varicocele that I have had for many years. The bump is located on the same side, the left side.

The bump should not be an STI as I have not engaged in any sexual activity.

Thank you for reading and I hope you can enlighten me on what this might be. I have a feeling that it's harmless but one can get particularly concerned about things around the genital area.

My apologies. The word "or" in the description should be "of".
