back and joint pain

I am a 26 year old healthy male. I have been having extreme lower back pain around the left side of my spine. I have also been having joint pain in my knees and ankles. It's continually getting worse. Any ideas?

Yes, guys here are spot on, basically when you are feeling pain, although much people don't know it, the back could be the cause.  Nerves all over the back sends message to all over the body so if a disc is slipped, it will squeeze the nerve and affect whatever organ/body part that nerve sends signal too.

I went to a chiropractor last year because my shoulders were paining, i thought was some bone being out of place and the chiropractor told me no, it's my back that's out of place.  he adjusted it and guess what, i use to catch cramp in my side and lower abdomen very easy when jogging, after that first session, that went away, now, i have to be jogging on a heavy stomach to catch that cramp easily.

And my shoulder no longer pains either.  The body use to feel a big relief.  I wouldn't hesitate to recommend persons to see a chiropractor just to get an adjustment.

Thanks for all the advice! I went to the doctor and they think I have a slipped disc but I have to go through more test and other specialists. The blood work shows inflamation and they say something is attacking my joints.

Hi,
Did you have any injury to the spine in the past? Some times such pains may be occupation related, like if you need to stand for long time while working. In such cases, simple exercises along with light massaging of the affected part will be all that is needed to relieve the pain. Pain in the joints may be due to higher uric acid level in the blood and a blood test may show that.In any case since different body parts are involved, the first step may be to consult a good physician who may in turn refer you to other specialists as required.

Yes, I do have an idea about what's going on. It sounds like you back is out of alignment. This can cause your knees and ankles to hurt also.
You might want to check with your family Dr first and if he can find nothing wrong, like some kind of injury or anything else wrong and says it's alright then see a Chiropractor for an adjustment.
