testicle discomfort

About a month ago i had discomfort (ache) in testicles that was so bad i couldnt shut my legs together, but the pain went away after a week, but has returned now. (nowhere near as bad pain tho). The ache feels like alot like blue balls which i thought only lasted a few hours. (ache gets worse after sex, but sex itself or urinating isnt painfull itself).
I have felt the area, and the only thing i notice is that there seems to be alot of tubes (i persume the sperm carrying ones) on the left hand side of the scrotum that feels like i mass of spaghetti that i havent noticed before.  Should this mass be fairly large?
I also do weight training which i hear may cause tension and discomfort. Can anyone explain on this?

Also am i right in believeing that this ache is a "good" thing as testicular cancer is usually painless?

appreciate any information given. thank you

hope all is well rich33. sounds to me like a varicele - a bit like a varicose vein nothing to worry about as such but still needs to be checked by your gp.

I easily survived testicular cancer (seminoma) almost 12 years ago.  I'm no Lance Armstrong, but I found the tumor after cycling for a long day and "squeezing" a nodule I'd never before noticed, while showering after my ride, I felt a pain - no - severe discomfort radiate through my abdomen like a bad gas cramp.  Only, I had been experiencing the very same sensation during sexual congress for the previous year I had been with a new lover.

Naturally, I assumed the discomfort was - inherently - the product of prolonged arousal.  When I found that lump and experienced the pain, I knew, almost intuitively, this was something that I should not experience in lieu of pleasure and probably did not belong in my body.

A little surgery and enough radiation to impart a mild sunburn, and I can proudly say that I now run better on one engine than I ever did on two.  Plus, with the innovation of synthetics, I have been the proud owner of a matching pair for over a decade.

All that said, you should realize that in a part of our bodies associated with pleasure, pain is a foreign substance and generally does not deserve the dignity of our patience or anxiety.

There are other less lethal conditions that can also cause such woe, but I'd suggest getting over your fear, getting to a doctor and getting satisfaction from answers that you can and will live with.

I'm happy to tell you more about my experience, but suffice it to say that - ultimately- I had more anxiety with acne, as a teen, than with cancer, as an adult.
