2 auras in 24 hours..

Hello I am a 25 year old F

Just kind of a question to ask if it can happen ? ... I had an aura yesterday afternoon followed by the headache... then this morning again at 11am... aura now an even worse headache.

My migraine n auras only started about 4 years ago and it is usually one ever 4 month. So having two in 24 hours has really freaked me out :( hoping its just a one off and I dont start getting them more frequent...

When I first ever started getting these I use yo have the stroke like symptoms. Half body numbness starting in fingers spreading up arm in to face and tounge. I could have drew a perfect line when this happened ended up with a few ER trips thinking I was having a stroke. But the last year+ ive not been getting the numbness which I am thankful for because it scared the .... out of me .

It can't hurt to try the magnesium, just don't over due it.  One of the side effects is diarrhea.  If it helps, great!

You may want to keep a Headache Diary:  http://www.webmd.com/migraines-headaches/guide/headache-diary  to see if you notice a trend.

I still recommend that you see a Neurologist for a work up.

Keep us posted on your progress. :-)

Yea. Ive had 1 coffee only since then and laid off the cheese. But TMI for most people but mother nature as graced me with her presence so I am kind of thinking that the migraines are because of that now. As she was missing along time ( I have polycystic ovaries)

I do try and lay in the dark. But have a panic attack at the same time. So find myself picking up my phone or turning tv on even though I cant see it with the aura lol

Ive bought some magnesium to start taking as ive read in many places alot of people with migraines recommend it

Well, you've already said it...the junk food (cheese, coffee, smoking) can all be triggers.  Try eliminating those to see if it helps.  Increased stress doesn't help either.

Migraines with auras are a type of migraine.

At least you have an appt. coming up with the Neurologist.

Have you tried resting in a dark, quiet room when the headaches are real bad?  Try that and eliminating the triggers I mentioned in this post to see if it helps.  Let us know how it goes.

Not taking any medication other than OTC painkillers. I am seeing a neuro for arnold chiari malformation(not know if this attributes to migraines as some people with chiari have them also)  and I am going back to see him on 4th oct so I shall bring them up again. Unfortunately over the years ive had no answers to the aura migraines just that its migraines.
Feel tired and body aching today head is better and havnt had another aura. So hoping its gone again for a few month.

Worked it out I have had 5 aura migraines in the last 12 month :( been under alot of stress in that time and the last few weeks been pretty bad so I am kind of figuring that hasnt helped.. been eating a bunch of junk food alot of cheese and coffee too Smoking like crazy. Working alot so kind of hoping the 2 after one another are because of that

Do you see a Neurologist for your migraines?
Do you take any medications for them?  Are you taking any prophylactic medications for migraines?
How are you doing today?  If you're still having symptoms, I would give your doctor a call.

Let us know how you are doing.
