My neuro says that I possibly have basilar, but I have so many different kinds, that labeling them doesn't really accomplish anything. Still, yeah. It's either that or an autonomic disorder, which is what my cardiologist thinks I have.
I definitely get panic w/ migraines, just not with the passing out as I was doing that up to 10x a day for a couple years. Now I'll get either REALLY depressed, or start freaking out for certain kinds of migraines. That's why I carry Xanax with me, for the panic.
It wouldn't be a dumb idea to get a bracelet however.
I can understand why you would need to where one. Are yours Basilar? My neuro said that she believes mine may be sporadic hemiplegic but time will tell for sure...
My blood pressure/heartrate go sky high with mine...Mine are sort of like a panic attack plus migraine.. Maybe I should get one.Like I said if it happened in public I could not explain what was happening. I have been fortunate that it has only happened at home so far. I hope that one day I will be able to remain calm during an episode like you....
I actually asked for the MedicAlert bracelet for my 16th birthday. Part of my migraine is that my blood vessels randomly dilate all over my body, my bp bottoms out, and I randomly pass out while doing things like taking notes in class. We got the bracelet so that if I passed out walking home from school or something, people wouldn't think that I was having a heart attack, a diabetic coma, etc. They'd just leave me well enough alone and I'd come around on my own. I don't pass out as much any more, but I still wear the bracelet just in case.
Did your neuro suggest that you get the medic alert bracelet?
Because if I had my aura out somewhere people would think I was crazy.....I cant speak properly and would not be able to explain what was happening to me.
I agree I dont think I will ever get use to the auras...

I don't get auras in the usual sense, before a migraine. I have status migranous, and so life's one long migraine for me. The auras will come without warning, and there's nothing I can do about them. I have migraine accompaniment which mimics TIA or stroke, (according to my MedicAlert bracelet) so I can get pretty crazy.
That said, I still think auras are worse than the constant migraine, because I've kinda gotten used to the pain, while the auras still take me by surprise.
