Diagnosed with complex migraines

I was taken to the ER by ambulance this week.  I was at work started feeling knumb on my left side, lethargic, high blood pressure, almost lost consciencness.  I got to the ER and they thought I was having a stroke, but after other tests they decided it was a complex migraine.  The next day I went to my regurlar medical Doctor, and he said that the hospital missed something on my MRI.  The doctor said you could not see into my Pituatary Gland, and you should be able to see into it.  I am going back on Friday for more blood work on that.  I am still experiencing headaches in the back of my head and feeling dizzy, and extremely tired, blurred vision at times as well.  If anyone can give some insight I would appreciate it.

There is a form of migraine which causes paralysis and numbness and tingling, a hemipalegic migraine, it can also cause visual disturbances, and may or may not be accompianed by an actual headache or "migraine". I know this because I have been suffereing from migraine with prolonged aura for a year and a half and have researched this and my neurologist as well as my headache clinic have discussed that type of migraine among all others with me

Huh. I don't know anything about the pituatary gland thing... so it sounds like you're dealing with something other than just a complex migraine...

I have complex migraines sometimes too, with the weakness and numbness on one side of my body. I had to go to the ER for it once, I was really scared... sort of thought I was having a stroke too... but as soon as I got there they looked at my file (i've been to the ER lots for severe migraine pain before) and they were like "oh, yeah, that's a migraine symptom, no big deal" and they ran a few scans just in case, kept me there until morning to watch me and then sent me home, but everyone was really calm and all like "yeeaaaah i know it sounds extreme... but.... it's not... it's just a migraine...."  even though my arm and hand were all blue and weak and numb.

but, yeah. if something showed up on your scans it sounds like it's more than "just a migraine" (although, i have to admit, i get some sort of twisted dark entertainment out of the phrase "just a migraine" that i think only migraineurs like us can laugh at when we're not having a migraine... and when we are having a migraine, we want to lash out at whoever is telling us we are "just" having a migraine....)

so... yeah, i dunno. maybe someone else here knows more about pituatary glands? i know there are a bunch of doctors that read these forums.. hopefully one of them will comment on your question.
