Initial tiny spot of light like you've looked at the sun, feeling of disorientation then arc's of light. Light that look's like you have mixed petrol with water. Then numb left hand and slurred speach Mine can last or hour's and then an exhausted feeling. I have been prescribed Propanalol and amytriptline and the usual sumatriptan. Now have a feeling that my heart want to beat through my chest. This only last a few second's but at regular interval's throughout the day. Had thee migraine's for 15-20 years now but worry about stroke and dementia in later life. I'm 38
That sounds like aura to me. Mine starts as a spot, or even just the feeling that something isn't there all the way. Next it's a line, then an arc, then a whole light show with a kaleidescope pattern. It might be cool, if not so sickening and freaky. Then, almost as suddenly as it came on, it's gone. Usually within 20-30 minutes. Then my neck will start to tighten, and I will get a headache on one side of my head. Occasionally, if I have a lot close together, I won't really get much of a headache at all. Hope that helps.
This is my first post in the migraine section also. I'd like to know if you or anyone
that gets these type of vision issues, has a darkening of your view and zig zag type
of lines go across your vision, then about a few minutes later,a headache that just seems
to intensify over your eyes. Sorry for the run-on sentence, but I think it was alcohol that
created mine, when I did get them every so often, about every month or so. If I was driving
my car,I had to pull over right away, because it obscured my vision terribly,to the point
that I was practically blind for the first 10 minutes or so. Do you or does anyone know
if this is an aura,or something totally different? Thanks for listening.
You get the weird head vibrating dizzy thing too???
When you feel like its happening again, plunge your arms and hands into hot water, as hot as you can get it. My migraine are the same as yours. I get it sometimes if I am short of sleep. Check wth the doc to see how your blood pressure is doing.
