Pain on both sides of the head when concentrating on something

I am 44 year old female, recently diagnosed with open-angle glaucoma.
Why do i get a pounding pain on both sides of my head when i try to concentrate on something - say, reading or sewing?
Sometimes, a numbness of both ears accompany the head pains. WHY?

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi,
How are you? Are there other symptoms present? Open-angle glaucoma is an asymptomatic, progressive optic neuropathy that can lead to visual field loss. It is indeed important that you continue the prescribed medication. With regards to the headaches associated with reading or sewing, this could also be associated with exertion headaches which warrant further evaluation as well. Exertion headaches can be both associated with both passive and active exertions. Additional diagnostic tests may also be indicated to determine the diagnosis. Take care and do keep us posted.
